You can call it in many different ways: Erasmus, Work Experience, Exchange, Summer Camp or just Holidays. But those names don’t show what they really mean: UNIQUE EXPERIENCE.
The experience can be good or can be bad anyway is something that really deserves to be lived at least once in everybody’s life. Some people keep living like that the whole life but at some point it could be unhealthy.
Living abroad gives you the chance to meet a huge number of different people from the farthest place ever to the city next to your hometown. It also makes you more open-minded with the people, their cultures and races and everything which is different from your environment or your habitual way of life.
Moreover you can do what you are there for: study, work, learn the language, relax, etc. plus uninterrupted sightseeing, shopping in markets or shops that you cannot find in your country (relating to food God Bless Spain!), enjoy their music, events and parties. Take the good customs they have (forget about the bad ones) and take advantage of the benefits the local government has, which right now does not have yours.
From my personal experience in the South West of England I can say that I’ve learnt loads of things about England, English people, their culture and life in general. But I’ve also become more mature in thinking (even if mum says the opposite sometimes), I’ve change my mind about a huge number of things, trust me A HUGE!. I’ve made very good friends from my country and some other countries as well, and I’ve tried my best to learn English. I know it’s not perfect but I already have one of the best experience of my life.
I really agree with you. I was only two months in England but, at the moment, I can say that it was the best and te greatest experience in my life.
ResponderEliminarA piece of advice: if you can, you have to live in abroad, at leastm one mont. When you come back you realize yo've learnt a lot, maybe not English language, but Im sure you've learnt abou life.
